6 Things Every Christian Girl Needs to Know Before Getting Married

By: Kristen Clark

The first six months of my marriage were some of the most eye opening months of my life. Prior to getting marriage, I thought being a wife was easy business. I mean…seriously — how hard could it be?

As I approached my wedding day, I naively thought I was fully prepared in every way.

Reality check!

After six months of marriage I realized how utterly unprepared I truly was in certain areas. If I could go back in time, I would definitely give my “single self” some major advice.

Looking back now, after 6 years of marriage, there are some specific things I wish I had worked harder on prior to getting married.

If you’re single right now and are hoping to get married some day, here are 6 things you definitely need to know.

    Hi GirlDefined!
I have a question that I find quite tricky to answer myself, and was wondering if you could help me. As we know, God created a man and a woman. Two distinct genders. But every day, some children are born with both male and female genitalia or with XXY/XYY syndrome. They are, as per definition, in between male and female. So can we, as christians, say that there are only two genders? I don’t know how to find answers for the question in the holy text, and hope that you might be able to help me.

This might not help answer your question, but there are parts of the Bible that refer to a third gender – eunuchs. As far as I know eunuchs were men who had their genitalia removed when they were young, and that meant that when they grew up they didn’t have much testosterone and so didn’t develop much in puberty (you should probably double check this, I could be remembering wrong). In the Old Testament the eunuchs seem to also have be servants/slaves. Jesus mentions eunuchs in Matthew 19:12, and there’s a eunuch in Acts 8 as well.
This doesn’t really answer your question, but it’s the most I know about genders other than male or female being mentioned in the Bible.
