How to Show a Guy You’re Interested

WATCH VIDEO   You like him…you want to talk to him…but you feel nervous and awkward around him. How can you overcome these feelings and treat him like a normal friend? When it comes to guys, most girls fall in one of two categories: Your interactions with guys are constantly flirty and over-the-top. Your interactions with guys are non-existent because you avoid guys at all costs. Neither of these approaches are best. It is possible to develop healthy, God-honoring friendships with guys. That’s what we should all be aiming for. In this video though, we’re going to focus specifically on the girl who feels weird and awkward around guys. HowFull Post

Finding Whole in a World of Searching

We live in a world of searching. We can trace this reality all the way back to that fracture in the garden. The moment when a man and a woman chose against God’s instruction as they reached out towards a forbidden fruit. What once was whole ruptured into two and thus began the search.   Sometimes I try to imagine what it would feel like to be truly whole. What it would have been like to walk beside God in the cool of the morning in that place of paradise.  I imagine myself bursting at the seam.  This tangible overflow of everything that I was created to be would bleedFull Post

Should Christian Girls Send Nude Photos?

WATCH VIDEO Sending nude photos has totally become the norm in our modern-day. Honestly, sometimes it feels like everyone is doing it. It feels like everyone’s sending nudes. It feels like every guy is asking for them. That’s not true though. There are some great guys that aren’t looking at porn and who aren’t asking for nudes. Just because it feels like it’s the norm, doesn’t mean everyone’s doing and it doesn’t mean every guy is asking for them. WATCH VIDEO

Why Sending Nude Photos Isn’t God’s Best for Single Women

“I just don’t know what to do!” she said to me, with a discouraged look on her face. “One of my friends is sending nude pictures to her boyfriend and I feel like I should say something to her. I don’t think it’s a good idea…but I’m just not sure what to say!” This is a real conversation I had with a teen girl after a Girl Defined event. She was totally discouraged about her friend’s sexting habits but had no idea what to say to her friend. As much as I’d like to hide under a bushel and believe that sexting and nude-photo-sharing are rare, it’s not. One statistic revealedFull Post

Hope for the Girl Who’s Sad and Lonely

I can remember a time when, as a teenager and young adult, I was lonely.  Really lonely. It was a constant struggle and I always felt like I was on the outside looking in as I watched my friends and peers in their budding relationships. I have vivid memories of crying and praying that I would somehow find the person God had for me. My study bible had tears on the pages as I searched for scripture that would be encouraging in my moments of intense loneliness. There were times I felt miserable.  Since that time, I have learned so much about where some of those thoughts and feelings originate.Full Post

How Mentorship Can Radically Change Your Life

As most of you know, I’m the second oldest of eight kids and I grew up in a really big family. With five girls and three boys (and most of us being taller than 6 feet), we’re quite the sight walking into a restaurant together. I have honestly loved being a part of such a large and fun family over the years. However, being the oldest of all the girls, I’ve always felt the weight and responsibility of being a good influence on my younger sisters. I knew they were watching me. I knew they were learning things (whether good or bad) from the personal choices that I made.Full Post
