How to Recover from Being a Desperate Flirt

By: Kristen Clark and Bethany Beal

As former “desperate flirts” the two of us want to share with you a few truths that we wish we would have embraced earlier on in life.

1. Flirting Never Satisfies Long-term

Flirting may be fun in the moment, but it always leads to emptiness and disappointment. Flirting is basically saying “I need attention from guys to feel good about myself.” If you really want to feel long-term satisfaction, you have to turn to the true Source. Only Christ can ultimately satisfy and give you your true identity.

2. Flirting is Selfish

Flirting at it’s core is a selfish act. Flirting isn’t about the other person, it’s about you. It’s about getting attention, making yourself feel good, and trying to get guys to fill your insecurities.

3. Flirting Screams “God Isn’t Enough.”

We each bought into the lie that we needed God plus attention from guys in order to be happy. We now understand that we don’t need attention from guys in order to feel valuable. We learned that God truly is our all in all.

    Hi Girls!

Thank you for your new video! Actually, I was in a same place. In my life there was a guy, who has beated my heart, and I really tried to know him. I failed, I think he not really remember my name as well. First, I went to the Lord and prayed “Oh, please I would like to know this guy”, after that I struggled with my emotions with giving up this fighting for his attention, his smile, his small talks. I could not got more from him. The truth is, I think about him sometimes.

Well, I am really impressed with this site, don’t grow weary in doing good, you are touching lives. 🙂

  4. Hey girls,

I just thought I’d let you know that when someone presses the big play button at the top of your post one just gets redirected back to this page.

I had to click the link at the bottom of your post in order to watch the video. I’m sure I’m not the only one getting confused by that 🙂

Have a good one ladies and keep up the good work with your blog.
